St Wilfrid’s Feast Day

The St Wilfrid’s ‘Parish Baker’  (Joan) must be one of the busiest bakers in Liverpool South!  Yet another cake took pride of place in the meeting rooms after the Rosary, Homily and Benediction for the Feast of St Wilfrid which we celebrated on 23-13 October 2019 – Synod Sunday.

With our Synod themes in mind Fr Joe, with help from three well trained altar servers, helped us to link the our four Synod themes with four inspirational saints:

  • St John Henry Newman – All called and gifted by God
  • St Edward the Confessor – Sharing the Mission of Jesus
  • St Wilfrid – How we pray together
  • Our Lady – Building community, nurturing belonging

Coming together as one parish of St Wilfrid’s is always a special time – parishioners from all Masses are a deeply prayerful and reflective community that is open, welcome and eager to live out the Good News both in the sacred space of St Francis of Assisi church, Garston and in the fellowship that is always present in this supportive community.
