Dementia awareness week is 12 – 19 March. Dementia is an emotive topic (as I know only too well within my own family) and support, however modest, both for those who have the disease and for their carers and a basic understanding of dementia can make a real difference. We pray too for Pope Francis as his celebrates his seventh Anniversary as Pope on 13 March. His focus on accompaniment and meeting others where they are continues to inspire and is especially poignant in terms of those with dementia. “Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art” Eleanor Roosevelt.
