Opening Doors
19th Sunday in Ordinary Time
With GCSE and A level results at the forefront of many of our young people’s minds this week, the anxiety of wanting to go through a particular door, if grades allow, can be overwhelming. My sons regularly hear my mantra of firmly believing if the door they are standing in front of is not opening for them, then it is not theirs to go through. I encourage them to trust in God’s care for them and to try another, until they find the one which is uniquely theirs– and we all try many doors in our lifetime. May the promise of new beginnings inspire as this week as we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption on Thursday. A short prayer: “ Oh God of second chances and new beginnings, here I am again.” God Bless, Helen
