Virtual Community Bonds
4th Sunday of Easter
It was a real sense of “putting out into the deep” for over 30 from the pastoral area who participated in the Zoom Synod meetings last week. The overwhelming sense of community despite being on screens with limited communication possibilities, was incredibly strong. Discussions in small groups of 3 or 4 allowed a deep sharing and reflection with people forming new bonds across parishes that surprised and delighted them. All ages were represented from the wisest and most experienced among us to those with youth and vigour. Well done everyone and let’s zoom again soon!
A musical challenge this week: many thanks to our high school violinists Beth and Anna from St Wilfrid’s, Garston who have recorded a medley of hymn tunes which are now on our pastoral area website – can you guess the melodies? My quote this week is from Pope Francis – especially apt for our times and as we commemorate VE day on Friday
“ Like the Good Samaritan, may we not be ashamed of touching the wounds of those who suffer, but try to heal them with concrete acts of love”
Stay safe, keep well. God Bless, Helen
