Weekly Message: Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi is always a great time of joy it marks the point at which most of the children have received their First Holy Communion and for some parishes hold their Corpus Christi processions. The Archbishop has recorded a message especially for this year’s cohort (link on the website) to encourage them as their preparations have been hampered by COVID-19 and I hope that the materials online will support all our families.

Activities online: Do check the online parish newsletters for virtual faith sharing opportunities: St Anne and St Bernard’s and St Vincent’s have online events.  On Facebook, if you follow FCJ Centre St Hugh’s they hold regular virtual activities many geared towards young adults.  Do register for the J&P Annual Assembly if you wish to take part in the interactive Zoom sessions – places are filling up fast so don’t delay – details on their website!

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference.”

From Niebuhr ‘s Serenity Prayer.

STOP PRESS: The dates and times of the two churches in our Pastoral Area – Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 27 High Park Street, Toxteth, L8 8DX and St Francis, Earp Street, Garston, L19 1RT – that have been granted permission to open for prayer, will be posted on the Liverpool South Pastoral Area Website when they are confirmed.
