O Antiphons

The Antiphons are celebrated from 17 – 23rd December. For more about them please take a look at the “3 minute Theology” clip from the Diocese of Nashville below.

This year we encourage our parish communities to participate in a very special way of celebrating and reflecting on the last days of Advent using the O Antiphons.

There will be a short 2 – 3 minute reflection on each day on the website which will be shared on The God Who Speaks Website and Facebook along with a verse of ‘O Come, O Come Emmanuel’.

It would be a lovely gesture if all our Christian communities could join in, reflecting on and praying with these beautiful O Antiphons and have them as a visible symbol of the Hope we share as one unified Christian community.

A copy of all of the O Antiphons is available to download for you and/or your family to colour and cut out and perhaps you can put them in your windows or hang them on your tree (you’ll need to add a piece of ribbon!) A parishioner from St Wilfrid’s Garston (thank you Debbie!) has also pre-coloured a set.
